All Ages And Stripes

Okay, I gave up on the PJs (although, I’m still rocking the slippers…). I still felt like hot garbage, but sometimes you have to put on real pants. Fun story: This is the outfit that inspired a (Special Ed) 8th grader to ask me if I was pregnant! Nevermind that I weigh less that at least half of the 14 year olds there. She has detention FOREVER.

I’m working a little stripe on stripe action here. I had been standing, staring into my closet when this combo came to me. Both are old pieces I’ve never worn together. I paired the dark grey cords to anchor the pastels and to add another cold weather fabric so it did’t look too Easter-y. I spent a while trying to pick a different necklace since I’d already paired these, but this match up is just meant to be.

Side note: After so many teeny J. Crew collars, these green ones look HUGE! If it weren’t for the necklace, I would’ve tucked the points into the sweater.

You can’t tell at all from the pictures, but I did a little variation on my standard low bun. I seperated seven ninths of my hair in the back, and braided the front two ninths into skinnyish regular braids and tied with clear bands. Then I just pulled everything back into a low messy bun. NOT rocket science, but it made it a little less boring.

Another String To Your Bow

Day Two of Pajamas on the Down Low. These pants are loose and stretchy: a deliciously comfortable combination.  The shirt and sweater look like legit clothes, but both are light and unrestricting. And my shoes are straight up slippers. Even the necklace is a light little wisp compared to the chunky ones I normally wear.

This sweater is mega old, but I LOVE the bow on the back. A simple bun shows it off.

A Nod To The Crisp Seattle Weather

…or are you just trying to stay warm in front of the refrigerator?

I wore this to a Holiday Brunch party. I totally style jacked Jill with this vest! How could I not? It’s super soft and expensive looking (even more so in person). At least 3 other girls we know also bought one after seeing Jill’s. Get yours before it sells out!

I bought this sweater 2 years ago at home in Philadelphia right before attending an Ugly Sweater Party at a bar. All the thrift stores were already picked over, but I lucked out and found this cute one in the girls’ department at Target. Here, I threw some flannel under it and decided on the leopard wedges at the last minute.

What are you wearing to your holiday parties this season?

All That Glitters Is Gold

Here’s one from the archives! I wore this little number pretty early in the school year – probably sooner than was appropriate to wear all those layers. I bought this sequin top to wear alone, but since the sequins on the short sleeves itches my tender “Oprah Wings” skin, I’ve had much more success layering this bad boy.

This is a much slouchier overall look than I tend to gravitate towards, but somehow I feel like this just works.
