FAREWELL WORDPRESS!

This last post is just for my friends in the WordPress community. I’ve enjoyed discovering your blogs through Reader and the ease of being able to “like” each other’s posts.

I have decided to move my blog elsewhere, but I’ll still be checking in on you! I hope you’ll continue to check me out over on at my new domain allmouthandtrousersblog.com.

Big kisses and looking forward to reading all your new posts!

xo, Amy

PARDON THE INTERRUPTION

It’s Spring Break! The mister and I will be heading off to Nashville, so there will be a bit of a break in our regular programming (“What regular programming? You never blog consistently!” -You).

In the meantime, here are a few extra pics from the Nordstrom event that were hiding on Jill’s camera.

More info on our outfits here and here.

IMG_1550During our marathon shopping sesh after, Jill found this purse at Charming Charlie that matched my nails. I acheived this look with a base layer of Sally Hansen Lacquer Shine in Spark (which looks purple in the bottle but dries navy) and about eight layers of Milani Nail Lacquer in Gems. Yes, it took forever to remove!

TRUE COLORS: DAY 4

This was from the Friday before St. Patrick’s Day. I knew I wanted to wear some green, but not in the typical way. And I also wanted to keep the weird color combo theme going.

I pulled this old scarf out of retirement for the green, and paired it with this oatmeal/oxblood sweater. Green and burgundy isn’t anything Earth shattering, but the colorful bangles add some unexpected brights.

TRUE COLORS:DAY 3

The day I (well, we) bought these lavender jeans, I spotted a gorgeous lavender and coral necklace at J Crew and knew I wanted to pair the pants with this coral blouse. The blouse is quite over-sized, so I tamed it with this tailored jacket.

The earrings match the pants, but the random introduction of mint makes them less matchy-matchy.

TRUE COLORS: DAY 2

This “week” has been pretty stretched out, due to blog neglect. I’m sure you will find a way to forgive me!

Here’s another wild color combo. I’ve been hanging on to this yellow top for a while, and the necklace is one of my purchases from the nine hour Michigan Ave binge. The shoes look pretty bright in the direct sunlight, but they are dark burgundy velvet.

TRUE COLORS: DAY 1

Week two of Theme Weeks! The theme originated as “Anything BUT Black or White” playing against the big Black and White trend for Spring. But I think my version evolved  into Kooky Color Combos.

Here, we have that highlighter pink sweater with which I started by pairing with these wine pants. I played with a few necklace options and dug up this oldie-but-goodie. I liked how it didn’t exactly match, but very much played off the dark pants. The necklace lead to the orange pumps (one of very few pointed toes that were saved from 6 years ago!), which lead to the pink and orange tank. It’s kind of insane, but works at the same time.

MIXED MESSAGES: REVIEW

Let’s take a look back on our first theme week. Here were my official outfits:

Check out Jill’s even more insane Trifectas here. And how about an homage to some previous looks that just happened to mix prints?

Were you inspired to mix prints this week? Do you do it all the time anyway? Do you think this is terrible and that we are insane? Let me know!

Stay tuned for next week’s theme…

MIXED MESSAGES: DAY 5

What a better way to end the week than with a Trifecta? I brought this scarf home and realized it just happened to have all the same colors are this jacket. Both have insane colors and patterns, but it works because the color palate is identical. The black on black texture pattern of the tee is also crazy, but I treated it like a plain black tee.

MIXED MESSAGES: DAY 4

I saw this scarf at Target and fell in love IMMEDIATELY. Most items I buy, I tend to think about what I already own that I can wear with it and where I might wear it to. But this one went in the basket without a second thought.

A funny story about the undershirt I’m wearing here: it’s Affliction. You heard me. I saw it at Marshalls, and loved the subtle grey fleur de lis pattern. Once I realized it was Affliction, I almost put it back on principle alone. But I ultimately liked the pattern so much that I didn’t care. I’ve been reaching for it a lot lately because of it’s short skinny sleeves. Too many of my short sleeve shirts have loose sleeves which leave weird bulges when layering.

The scarf, the sweater, and the tee add up to a Trifecta (plus the leopard on the bracelet!).
